Integrating personal and socio-ecological civilization in China
This workshop examined how a relational approach to Ecological Civilization may better align its philosophical and political dimensions across sectors, cultures, and contexts. The discussion drew on case studies that bridged theory and practice and were grounded in a relational approach to sustainability. The workshop applied methods that integrated knowledge, experiences, and skills (knowing, being, and doing) in sessions designed to consider case studies from three different orientations: forward, inward, and looping (FIL).
In this context the event gave particular space for:
- exploring and discussing case studies of ecological civilization
- identifying patterns of relational practices that characterize ecological civilization
- clarifying the role of human subjectivity in visions of ecological civilization
- deriving concrete implications for future research
