Djego Abedinaj

Djego Abedinaj is a Research Fellow at RIFS and also a scholarship holder from the German Federal Environment Foundation (DBU). He holds a Master's degree in European Studies from the University of Siena, Italy, and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Security Studies, from the European University of Tirana, Albania. His research project at RIFS is exploring the EU external trade and climate nexus in the context of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. His research interests cover global climate governance, international institutions and the EU external action. Before joining RIFS, he has been engaged as a young researcher exploring digitalization challenges in the Western Balkans in cooperation with Scidev, Albania, and Institute for Education Policy, Serbia. He also has been engaged as an Intern at the Center for the Study of Political Change (CIRCaP) and the Corte dei Miracoli, an NGO focused on social and human rights, in Siena, Italy.
