Charlie Choy obtained the Juris Doctor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong ('CUHK') and is expected to be awarded a PhD in Laws by the CUHK in 2024. She is interested in corporate sustainability and financial regulation. Her doctoral thesis evaluates corporate environmental, social, and governance ('ESG') reporting regulations implemented in Hong Kong. During her PhD studies, she was a visiting scholar at Aarhus University and the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law ('UNIDROIT'). At RIFS, her research project examines the effectiveness of the environmental and social due diligence performed by multilateral development banks with a focus on green hydrogen investment.

Before studying law, Charlie earned the Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences at The University of Hong Kong and Master of Science degree in Investment Management at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. As a Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong, she has solid work experience in accounting and finance in both public and private sectors.
