My professional background is in media-design and software engineering and I currently work on the integration of process, product and system-oriented sustainablity perspectives across manufacturing system boundaries.
My main goal is to derive scientific insights and develop practical orientations for software makers in form of a robust open source vocabulary for the gathering and exchange of "non-financial" information between different organizations and software systems. I consider transdisciplinary work at the interface of data, information, conceptions and orientations to be a challenge of outstanding relevance to advance socio-ecological transformations of businesses and economies.
Before joining RIFS I was freelancing as an open source software developer and co-founded DMX Systems, a Berlin based software company which, building on the idea of "tools for thought", has developed a free and open platform for collaboration and knowledge management.
