Dr Dorota Stasiak heads the research group 'Co-Creation in Democratic Practice'. Together with her interdisciplinary team, she researches - both conceptually and through the design, implementation and evaluation of concrete processes - how co-creative approaches can contribute to tackling complex social and environmental challenges in a democratic way. Dorota graduated from the University of Warsaw in Political Science (MA, PhD) and Applied Linguistics (MA). Her background also includes project management in classical and agile frameworks, as well as various facilitation methods. Before joining RIFS (then IASS) in 2017, she worked i.a. as a postdoctoral researcher at the Hertie School of Governance, conducted research on the role of advisory institutions as part of the DAAD scholarship, was involved in several national and international research projects, and translated some social science books. Dorota's research focuses on policy advice, democratic innovations and the 'art, craft and science' of effective collaboration.
